[아부다비, 아랍에미리트] 아랍 에미리트(UAE) 셰이크 압둘라 빈 자예드 알 나얀(HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan) 외교국제협력부 장관(the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) 후원으로 지난 11~13일 ‘제4회 무슬림사회 평화 촉진을 위한 포럼(the 4th Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies)’이 진행했다.
‘세계 평화와 이슬람에 대한 두려움: 극단주의 확산에 대처(Global Peace and the Fear of Islam: Countering the Spread of Extremism)’라는 주제 하에 샤이흐 압달라 빈 바야(H.E Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah) 포럼 의장이 설립한 획기적인 행사가 아부다비 코르니체 세인트 레지스 호텔에서 고위급 공무원, 학자들로 구성된 엘리트 단체, 지식인 및 타 종교 지도자들이 참석한 가운데 개최되었다.
이 포럼에서 종교, 정체성과 세계 평화, 이슬람과 세계, 이슬람과 세계: 화해와 연대의 길 및 이슬람에 대한 두려움의 원인과 배경 등 4가지 주요 주제가 논의되었다.
개회식에는 셰이크 나얀 빈 무바락 알 나얀(H.E Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan) 관용부 장관(Minister of Tolerance); 모하메드 빈 압둘 카림 알 잇사(H.E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al Issa) 무슬림세계연맹 사무총장(Secretary General of the Muslim World League), 아흐메드 타우히크(Dr. Ahmed Tawfig) 모로코 이슬람종교부 장관(Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs), 압바스 쇼만(H.E Dr. Abbas Shoman) 알 아즈하르 알 샤리프 부국장(Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif), 룩만 하킴 사이푸딘(Dr. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin) 인도네시아 이슬람종교부 장관(Indonesian Minister of Islamic Affairs), 사르다르 모하마드 유수프(HE Dr. Sardar Mohammad Yusuf) 파키스탄 종교부 장관(Minister for Religious Affairs), 아다마 디엥(H.E Adama Dieng) 국제연합(UN) 집단학살 방지 특별 자문관(UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide) 및 모하메드 마타르 알 카비(H.E Dr. Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi) 포럼 사무총장(Secretary General) 겸 이슬람종합종교청장(Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments) 등의 기조 연설이 진행됐다.
개회식의 하이라이트는 이슬람 사회 내 종교 교육 장려를 위한 10개의 연구 워크숍 조직을 목적으로 UN 집단학살 방지 특별 자문관인 아다마 디엥 사무차장(Undersecretary-General)이 대표하는 UN과 무슬림사회 평화 촉진을 위한 포럼 간 발표된 공동협력 계약이었다.
포럼 첫째 날은 모하메드 알 하마디 알이티하드(Al-Ittihad) 신문 수석편집장(Editor-in-Chief)이 사회를 맡은 ‘세계 평화를 위한 국제 기후(International Climate for World Peace)’와 국제 이슬람 자선단체 대표(CEO)인 압둘라 마토크 마토크 박사(Dr. Abdulla Matouq Matouq)가 진행한 ‘종교, 정체성 및 폭력(Religion, Identity and Violence)’에 대해 다뤘다.
포럼 둘째 날 주제는 모하메드 모크타르 주마(H.E Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar Juma) 이집트 종교부 장관(Awqaf Minister)이 주재한 ‘세계 평화를 위한 이슬람의 비전(An Islamic Vision for World Peace)’, 파이살 빈 압둘라만 빈 무함마르(H.E Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muaammar) 카이시드(KAICIID) 총장(Secretary-General)이 진행한 ‘이슬람과 세계: 화해와 연대의 길(Islam and the World: Ways to Rapprochement and Solidarity)’과 포럼 이사회 회원인 모하메드 세누시 박사(Dr. Mohamed Senoussi)가 진행한 ‘이슬람에 대한 두려움: 원인과 배경(Fear of Islam: Causes and Contexts)’ 등 이었다.
또한 둘째 날에는 마흐무드 함디 작조우크(Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq) 이집트 패밀리 하우스(the Egyptian Family House) 사무총장(Secretary General)과 총주교 겸 콥트 정교회 문화센터장인 안바 어미아(His Eminence Anba Ermia) 사무차장(Assistant Secretary General)에게 수여된 이집트 패밀리 하우스의 2017 이맘 알 하산 빈 알리 상(the Imam Al Hassan bin Ali Award 2017) 수상 기념 만찬이 열렸다.
포럼 셋째 날에는 8개의 워크숍이 개최되어 ‘오늘날의 이슬람 혐오(Today’s Islamophobia)’, ‘이슬람에 대한 두려움: 서구적 관점(Fear of Islam: From a Western Perspective)’ 및 ‘지하드, 투쟁에서 상호 연결까지(Jihad, from Fighting to an interconnection effort)’ 등의 여러 주제가 논의됐다.
샤이흐 빈 바야(H.E Shaykh bin Bayyah)와 알 카비(H.E Dr. Al Kaabi) 박사가 마지막 회의에 참석하였고 최종 성명이 발표됐다.

Abu Dhabi Hosts the 4th Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The UAE hosted the 4th Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies during 11-13 December 2017, under the Patronage of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Under the theme ‘Global Peace and the Fear of Islam: Countering the Spread of Extremism’, the ground-breaking event founded by H.E Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, President of the Forum, was held at St. Regis Hotel, Abu Dhabi Corniche, and attended by high-level officials and an elite group of scholars, intellectuals and religious leaders of different faiths.
The Forum discussed four main topics namely; Religion, Identity and World Peace; Islam and the World; Islam and the World: Ways to Rapprochement and Solidarity; and Fear of Islam: Causes and Contexts.
The opening session included keynote speeches by H.E Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance; H.E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League; Dr. Ahmed Tawfiq, Moroccan Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs; H.E Dr. Abbas Shoman, Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif; Dr. Lukman Hakim Saifuddin, Indonesian Minister of Islamic Affairs; HE Dr. Sardar Mohammad Yusuf, Minister for Religious Affairs in Pakistan; H.E Adama Dieng, UN Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide; and H.E Dr. Mohammed Matar Al Kaabi, the Forum’s Secretary General, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
The opening session’s key highlight was the joint cooperation agreement announced between the United Nations, represented by Undersecretary-General Adama Dieng, United Nations Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, and the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies, to organize ten research workshops to promote religious education in the Islamic world.
Day one sessions tackled the ‘International Climate for World Peace’, moderated by Mohammed Al Hammadi, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ittihad Newspaper, and ‘Religion, Identity and Violence’, moderated by Dr. Abdulla Matouq Matouq, CEO of the International Islamic Charitable Organization.
Topics of the second day included ‘An Islamic Vision for World Peace’, moderated by H.E Dr. Mohammed Mokhtar Juma, Egypt’s Awqaf Minister; ‘Islam and the World: Ways to Rapprochement and Solidarity’, by H.E Faisal Bin Abdulrahman Bin Muaammar, Secretary-General, (KAICIID); and ‘Fear of Islam: Causes and Contexts’, by Dr. Mohamed Senoussi, member of the Board of Trustees of the Forum.
A gala dinner was organized on the second day to honor the Egyptian Family House organization, winner of the Imam Al Hassan bin Ali Award 2017, presented to Dr. Mahmoud Hamdi Zaqzouq, Secretary General of the organization; and His Eminence Anba Ermia, General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, Assistant Secretary General.
Eight workshops took place on the third day and discussed several themes, such as ‘Today’s Islamophobia’; Fear of Islam: From a Western Perspective; and ‘Jihad, from Fighting to an interconnection effort’; to name a few.
H.E Shaykh bin Bayyah and H.E Dr. Al Kaabi attended the final session, during which the Final Communiqué was announced.
