[캠벨, 캘리포니아-외신종합] 전세계 두 번째 규모의 하드웨어 보안 모듈(HSM) 제조업체인 우티마코(Utimaco)가 마이크로 포커스(Micro Focus)로부터 아탈라 HSM 및 ESKM 비즈니스 라인을 인수할 의향이 있다고 최근 밝혔다.

아탈라 HSM 및 ESKM 비즈니스 라인은 2017년 9월 전까지는 휴렛 패커드 엔터프라이즈(HPE)의 소유였고 2017년 9월에 휴렛 패커드 엔터프라이즈의 소프트웨어 사업부가 마이크로 포커스와 합병하면서 마이크로 포커스의 소유로 넘어간 바 있다.

독일에 본사를 두고 35년 이상 HSM 시장에서 활동 중인 우티마코는 세계적인 범용 HSM 제조업체다.

우티마코는 주문자 상표 부착 생산업체(OEM)나 채널 비즈니스 파트너를 통한 간접 판매에 중점을 두고 자동차, 정부, 미디어 및 엔터테인먼트, 스마트 미터링, 반도체, 통신, 은행업, 금융 서비스 부문 등 다양한 산업에 시큐리티서버(SecurityServer) 제품 라인을 판매하면서 시장 선도적인 입지를 다져왔다.

우티마코는 아탈라 팀을 유지하고 캘리포니아 지역에서 투자를 확대하기 위해 노력하고 있다.

이 거래는 관례적인 규제 승인으로 인해 완료를 기다리고 있으며 2018년 가을에 종료될 것으로 예상된다.
