동원그룹이 지난해 동부익스프레스 인수에 이어 물류사업 추가 확대에 나선다. 동원산업은 ㈜디섹이 보유하고 있던 BIDC의 지분 51.04%를 370억 원에 인수하는 계약을 체결했다고 지난 27일 공시했다.
BIDC는 부산신항에 위치하고 있는 물류기업으로, 지난해 기준 약 706억 원의 매출액과 60억 원의 영업이익을 기록하고 있다. 포워딩과 물류센터 운영업을 주요 사업으로 하고 있으며, 부산신항 배후물류단지 내 최대 부지(약 42,800평)와 물류센터(약 20,500평)를 운영하고 있다. 주요 고객으로는 대우조선해양, 암웨이, 디섹 등이 있다.
동원산업은 BIDC 인수를 통해 물류부문 간 시너지를 기대하고 있다. 자회사인 동부익스프레스는 부산신항에서 항만하역사업을 운영하고 있고, 자회사 동원로엑스 역시 부산신항에 물류센터를 운영 중에 있다. 여기에 BIDC의 포워딩, 물류센터 인프라가 더해진다면 물류서비스 역량의 시너지를 통한 경영효율이 강화될 것으로 예상된다.

Dongwon Group will further expand its logistics business following its acquisition of Dongbu Express last year. Dongwon Industries made an announcement on the 27th that it has signed a contract to buy a 51.04 percent stake in BIDC, which was held by Dysek, for 37 billion won.
BIDC is a logistics company located in Busan New Port, with sales of about 70.6 billion won and operating profit of 6 billion won as of last year. The company operates forwarding and logistics center operations, and operates the largest site (about 42,800 pyeong) and logistics center (about 20,500 pyeong) in the logistics complex behind Busan New Port. Major customers include Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Amway and Dysek.
Dongwon Industries is expecting synergy between the logistics sector through the acquisition of BIDC. Its subsidiary Dongbu Express operates a port loading business at Busan New Port, while its subsidiary Dongwon RoX also operates a logistics center at Busan New Port. If BIDC's forwarding and logistics center infrastructure are added to this, it is expected that management efficiency will be strengthened through synergy of logistics service capabilities.
