LG생활건강(대표: 차석용)의 자회사 더페이스샵이 글로벌 화장품 회사 AVON의 중국 광저우 공장 지분 100%를 약 793억원에 인수하는 계약을 체결했다고 9일 밝혔다. 현금성 자산 약 300억원을 제외한 실제 인수가는 약 493억원이다.
AVON 광저우 공장은 약 24,000평의 부지에 건물 면적 15,000평인 대규모 화장품 공장으로 연간 13,000톤의 제품을 생산할 수 있는 규모를 가지고 있다. 또한, 미국 FDA 품질 기준에 부합하는 cGMP(current Good Manufacturing Practice) 설비를 보유하고 있으며, 기초 및 색조 화장품과 헤어 및 바디제품 등 다양한 제품 생산이 가능하다.
이번 계약은 중국 현지 정부기관의 승인을 받은 후, 2월중에 인수가 완료될 것으로 예상된다.
[M&A] The Face Shop acquires AVON (Avon) factory in Guangzhou, China
The Face Shop, a subsidiary of LG Household & Health (CEO : Cha Suk-yong), announced on Monday that it has signed a contract to acquire 100 percent of AVON's factory shares in Guangzhou for about 79.3 billion won.
The actual acquisition price excluding cash assets of about 30 billion won is about 49.3 billion won.
The AVON plant in Guangzhou is a large cosmetic plant with a floor area of about 24,000 pyeong and a building area of 15,000 pyeong, capable of producing 13,000 tons of products annually.
It also has current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) facilities that meet FDA quality standards in the United States and is capable of producing a range of products, including base and color cosmetics and hair and body products.
The deal is expected to be completed in February after obtaining approval from a Chinese government agency.
