“KT그룹의 모든 역량을 결집해 세계가 주목하는 ‘글로벌 5G 1등’에 도전”
KT 황창규 회장이 최고 수준의 5G 서비스를 위해 KT는 물론 KT그룹의 모든 구성원들이 함께 뛰자고 요청했다. 또한 아현화재와 같은 사고가 되풀이되지 않도록 관행과 타성에서 벗어나 기본과 원칙에 입각해 재발방지책을 철저히 시행해 달라고 주문했다.
KT(회장 황창규)가 26일 경기도 성남시 분당사옥 대강당에서 ‘2019년 그룹임원 워크숍’을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이번 행사에는 황창규 회장을 비롯해 KT 및 38개 그룹사 임원과 상무보 430여명이 참석했다.
이번 워크숍은 아현화재가 남긴 교훈을 바탕으로 완벽한 통신 서비스 제공과 함께 세계 최고 5G 서비스를 위한 의지를 다지기 위해 마련했다. 이를 위해 황창규 회장은 임원들에게 기본에 충실해줄 것을 당부하며, ‘싱글(Single) KT’를 바탕으로 모든 그룹사가 안정적인 5G 품질 제공을 위해 더욱 노력해줄 것을 요청했다.
황창규 회장은 아현화재의 원인으로 관행과 타성을 지적하고, 완벽한 통신 네트워크를 위해 유지보수, 관리 프로세스, 조직 등을 근본부터 꼼꼼히 확인하고 점검하자고 주문했다. 그룹사 및 협력사와 관계도 동반자적 입장에서 챙기고 협업해야 한다고 강조했다.
또한 아현화재 재발방지를 위해 통신 관련 안전유지, 시설관리, 화재예방 등을 총괄하는 안전 전담부서(Control Center)를 신설할 예정이라고 설명했다. 이 부서를 중심으로 올해 안에 KT의 안전관리 체계를 완전히 바꾸겠다는 의지도 밝혔다.
이와 함께 황창규 회장은 세계가 KT 5G에 주목하고 있다고 강조했다. 이달 초 KT의 5G 모델은 유엔 경제사회이사회 공식의견서로 채택돼 193개 회원국에서 열람 중이다.(※보충자료 참고) 최근에는 세계 최고의 혁신기업 중 하나인 세일즈포스의 CEO인 마크 베니오프가 KT 5G를 보기 위해 처음으로 방한하기도 했다.
KT그룹의 4대 핵심가치 중 하나인 Single KT는 부서나 그룹사 사이의 벽을 없애고 소통, 협력하는 것을 가리킨다. 황창규 회장은 최고의 5G 서비스를 위해 그룹사가 보유한 차별화된 역량을 결집해 달라고 부탁했다. 특히 5G 인프라 구축, 5G 서비스 판매, 고객 상담 등 역할을 맡고 있는 KT MOS 북부∙남부, KT M&S, KT IS, KT CS 등 그룹사에 높은 기대를 표시했다.
이번 워크숍에서는 5G 시대를 위한 비전 및 전략을 공유하고, 최고의 5G 서비스 제공을 위한 사례 발표가 있었다. KT 미래플랫폼사업부문장 이동면 사장은 ‘5G로 그려나갈 그룹의 미래’를 주제로 기조연설(Keynote Speech)을 했다. 또한 부문장급이 B2C 마케팅, B2B 시장개척, 미디어 분야에서 5G 전략에 대해 설명했다.

KT Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu has asked all members of KT Group, as well as KT, to play together for the highest-quality 5G service. He also asked the government to thoroughly implement measures to prevent recurrence based on basic principles and principles, breaking away from practice and inertia, to prevent accidents like Ahyeon Fire from happening again.
KT (Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu) announced that it held a "2019 Group Executives Workshop" at the Bundang-ok Grand Auditorium in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on Wednesday. The event was attended by Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu, executives from KT and 38 groups, as well as some 430 members of the Commerce Ministry.
Based on lessons left behind by Ahyeon Fire, the workshop was organized to strengthen its commitment for the world's best 5G service, along with providing perfect communication services. To that end, Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu asked executives to stick to the basics and to make more efforts to provide stable 5G quality based on "Single KT."
Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu pointed out practice and inertia as the cause of Ahyeon Fire and called for a thorough inspection and inspection of maintenance, management process and organization from the root to ensure a perfect communication network. He also emphasized that relations with group companies and partners should be taken care of and cooperated in partnership.
In order to prevent a recurrence of Ahyeon Fire, the company will establish a "Control Center" that oversees communication-related safety maintenance, facility management and fire prevention, it said. He also expressed his willingness to completely change KT's safety management system within this year, focusing on the department.
In addition, Chairman Hwang Chang-kyu stressed that the world is paying attention to KT 5G. Earlier this month, KT's 5G model was adopted as an official statement by the U.N. Economic and Social Council and is being viewed by 193 member states.(See supplementary materials) Mark Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, one of the world's top innovators, recently visited Korea for the first time to see KT 5G.
Single KT, one of the four core values of KT Group, refers to removing walls between departments or group companies, communicating and cooperating. Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu asked the group to combine differentiated capabilities held by the group's companies for the best 5G service. In particular, it expressed high expectations to group companies such as KT MOS North and South, KT M&S, KT IS and KT CS, which are in charge of establishing 5G infrastructure, selling 5G services, and consulting customers.
The workshop shared visions and strategies for the 5G era and presented cases for providing the best 5G services. Lee Dong-myun, president of KT's Future Platform Business Division, delivered a keynote speech under the theme of "The Future of the Group to be drawn with 5G." In addition, the section head explained 5G strategies in B2C marketing, B2B market development and media.
"Only a painful reflection and fundamental and clear change on Ahyeon Fire will be the way to regain customer and public trust," said KT Group Chairman Hwang Chang-gyu. "We will strive to create a 'global first-class 5G company' by combining KT Group's capabilities while providing the highest level of 5G service based on basic principles and principles."
