[말레이시아 쿠알라룸푸르 = 안도현 특파원] 말레이시아 한인상인들로 구성된 연합회가 2년여의 준비기간을 거쳐 창립됐다.

말레이시아에서 사업 하는 교민들이 주축이 된 ‘말레이시아 한인 상인 연합회(협회장 박인근, Malaysia Korea Business Leaders Association ·이하 MAHAN)’는 지난 18일 쿠알라룸푸르 쉐라톤 임페리얼 호텔에서 창립 행사를 갖고 본격적인 행보에 나선다고 30일 밝혔다.

연합회 관계자는 “다양한 전문가들로 구성된 MAHAN는 회원간의 연대로 공동 발전을 도모하고, 말레이시아 현지 사회에 한인들의 위상을 높이고, 협력을 강화하는데 목적이 있다”면서 “향후 다양한 대정부 협력방안과 말레이시아 진출을 원하는 한국 기업과 말레이시아 한인 상인들의 문제를 해결하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 설명했다.

MAHAN는 이날 협회장으로 박인근 대표를 선임했다. 수석 부회장는 정성목, 김재호, 김영준 대표를 부회장으로 선임하고, 감사 이동준 센터장, 사무총장 안도현 대표가 선임됐다. 또 안윤희, 양상철, 은종찬, 강희찬, 이종영 대표를 각각 분과 위원장으로 임명했다.

이날 선임된 박인근 협회장은 “말레이시아에서 한인 상인들을 위한 정보교류와 대정부 네트워크를 확대해 말레이시아 한인의 이익과 권리는 보호하며 말레이시아 지역사회 공헌 등을 통해 말레이시아에 한인 사업가들의 위상을 높이는데 보탬이 되겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

한편 MAHAN은 향후 말레이시아 협회 등록과 한국 사단법인 등록을 추진하고, 양국의 공식적인 협회로 다양한 활동을 진행할 예정이다.

말레이시아 한인 상인 연합회는 회원들의 가입을 100% 만장일치를 통해 평판과 전문성을 인정받은 이들 만을 대상으로 한다고 강조했다. 또 상호간의 정보와 네트워크를 보호, 한인 상인들의 상호 신뢰와 대외 공신력을 높이는데 차별화를 두고 있다.

[Malaysia Kuala Lumpur = correspondent Doryan Ahn] = The Association of Korean Merchants in Malaysia was founded after a two-year preparatory period.

The Association of Korean Merchants in Malaysia (MAHAN), led by ethnic Koreans working in Malaysia, announced on Thursday that it will launch a full-fledged march at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the 18th.


"The MAHAN, which is comprised of various experts, aims to promote joint development through an alliance among its members, enhance the status of Koreans in the Malaysian community, and strengthen cooperation," an association official said. "We will do our best to resolve various government cooperation measures in the future and the problems of Korean companies and Korean merchants in Malaysia who want to enter Malaysia."


MAHAN appointed Park In-geun as head of the association. The senior vice chairman was appointed Chung Sung-mok, Kim Jae-ho and Kim Young-joon as vice chairman, while Lee Dong-joon, head of the center of the audit, and Doryan Ahn, the secretary-general. He also named Ahn Yoon-hee, Yang Sang-chul, Eun Jong-chan, Kang Hee-chan and Lee Jong-young as the heads of the subcommittee, respectively.


"We will expand the information exchange for Korean merchants and the government network in Malaysia to protect the interests and rights of Korean people in Malaysia, and contribute to enhancing the status of Korean businessmen in Malaysia by contributing to the Malaysian community," said Park In-geun, the president of the association.


Meanwhile, MAHAN will push for registration of Malaysian association and Korean division corporation in the future, and conduct various activities as official associations of the two countries.


The Malaysian Federation of Korean Merchants stressed that membership of its members is targeted only for those who have been recognized for their reputation and expertise through 100 percent unanimous approval. It also sets a distinction between protecting mutual information and networks, enhancing mutual trust and public confidence among Korean merchants.
