JT금융그룹의 모회사인 일본 금융그룹 J트러스트가 캄보디아 상업은행인 ‘ANZ 로얄 은행㈜(ANZ Royal Bank Ltd)’ 인수를 최종 마무리했다고 최근 밝혔다. JT금융그룹그룹은 JT캐피탈·JT친애저축은행·JT저축은행을 운영하고 있는 곳이다.

3일 인수합병(M&A)업계에 따르면 J트러스트는 캄보디아 ANZ 로얄 은행 M&A를 마무리 짓고 J트러스트 로얄 은행(J Trust Royal Bank Ltd)으로 사명을 바꿔 영업을 개시했다. ANZ 로얄 은행은 캄보디아 수도 프놈펜을 포함한 주요 도시에 14개 지점을 갖고 있다.  현지 상위 1% 기업을 대상으로 한 기업금융과 인구 5%의 부유층 고객을 대상으로 한 소매금융 등 안정성 높은 사업 포트폴리오를 갖추고 있는 게 특징이다.

J트러스트는 2012년 JT친애저축은행을 시작으로 2015년 JT저축은행과 JT캐피탈을 통해 국내 금융시장 지배력을 확대한 곳이다. 2013년에는 싱가포르에 J트러스트 아시아를 설립했고 2014년에는 인도네시아, 작년에는 몽골에 각각 진출했다.

J트러스트그룹은 J트러스트 로얄 은행(JTRB) 출범으로 기존의 기업금융과 소매금융 서비스 이외에도 한국과 일본, 인도네시아의 금융시장에서 축적한 풍부한 글로벌 금융 노하우와 신상품 개발 역량, IT기술 등을 활용해 캄보디아 금융사업을 한층 성장시킬 계획이다.  향후 미얀마, 라오스 등 메콩 지역의 금융 사업을 확장하기 위한 거점으로도 활용할 것으로 알려졌다.

J트러스트그룹 측은 “성장 잠재력이 높은 캄보디아에서는 최근 금융 서비스에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있어 한국과 일본 등에서 습득한 선진 금융 노하우와 글로벌 네트워크를 활용해 캄보디아 금융시장은 물론 경제발전에도 보탬이 될 것”이라며 “캄보디아 진출을 발판 삼아 향후 미얀마, 라오스 등 동남아시아 신 시장으로 사업영역을 키워 글로벌 금융그룹으로서 면모를 더욱 확대해 나갈 것”이라고 말했다.

[INVEST] J Truss Group to acquire Cambodia's ANZ Royal Bank in a timely move to tap the global market

J Trust, the parent company of JT Financial Group, recently announced that it has finalized its acquisition of the Cambodian commercial bank, the ANZ Royal Bank Ltd. JT Financial Group is the place that runs JT Capital, JT Chinae Savings Bank and JT Savings Bank.



According to M&A industries on the 3rd, J Trust has completed M&A of ANZ Royal Bank of Cambodia and changed its name to J Trust Royal Bank Ltd. ANZ Royal Bank has 14 branches in major cities, including Cambodia's capital Phnom Penh. It features a stable business portfolio, including corporate financing for the top 1 percent of local companies and retail banking for wealthy customers with a population of 5 percent.



J Trust is where it expanded its grip on the local financial market through JT Savings Bank and JT Capital in 2015, starting with JT Chinae Savings Bank in 2012. It established J Trust Asia in Singapore in 2013, followed by Indonesia in 2014 and Mongolia last year.



With the launch of JTRB, J Trust Group plans to further develop its Cambodian financial business by utilizing its abundant global financial know-how, new product development capabilities and IT technologies accumulated in the financial markets of Korea, Japan and Indonesia, as well as existing corporate and retail banking services. It is also expected to use the bank as a base to expand its financial operations in the Mekong region such as Myanmar and Laos in the future.



"In Cambodia, where growth potential is high, the demand for financial services is increasing, it will benefit the Cambodian financial market as well as economic development by utilizing advanced financial know-how and global networks acquired in Korea and Japan," J Trust Group said. "By making inroads into Cambodia, we will further expand our presence as a global financial group by developing our business into new Southeast Asian markets such as Myanmar and Laos."
