카카오모빌리티가 종합 택시플랫폼 구축에 나선다.
19일 인수합병(M&A)에 따르면 카카오모빌리티는 지난 17일 국내 최대 택시가맹사업자 타고솔루션즈 지분 100% 인수를 마무리했다.

타고솔루션즈는 지난해 9월 설립된 택시 가맹 사업체로, 모두 4500여대의 택시를 보유한 법인 택시회사 50여곳이 가입돼 있는 곳이다. 국토교통부가 지난 3월 1호 택시가맹사업 인가를 내주면서 승차거부 없는 택시인 ‘웨이고블루’를 운영하고 있다.

타고솔루션즈는 카카오모빌리티의 영문 앞글자를 딴 케이엠솔루션(KM Solution)으로 사명이 변경됐다.  카카오모빌리티 류긍선 공동대표가 기존 오광원 대표 대신 케이엠솔루션의 대표이사를 맡는다.
카카오모빌리티는 타고솔루션즈 인수를 통해 종합 택시회사로 발돋움 할 수 있게 됐다. 기존 택시 외에도 중형·대형·고급(카카오블랙) 택시 서비스를 제공이 가능하기 때문이다.

카카오는 타고솔루션즈 인수로 가맹 택시를 확대하며 중형택시 체인을 확대해 나갈 예정이다. 10월 중 승합차 기반의 대형택시 호출 서비스 라이언택시(가칭)도 선보일 예정이다. 카카오모빌리티는 이를 위해 100여개 법인택시와 제휴를 맺었다.

중형 대형 택시 시장은 현재 택시 플랫폼 서비스 중 확장성이 가장 큰 곳으로 꼽힌다. 지난 6월말 기준 전체 운행 택시 24만여 대 중 약 98%가 중형택시일 정도로 시장이 커졌다. 카카오모빌리티는 그동안 호출을 받아서 택시에 뿌려주는 단순 중개역할만 했지만 타고솔루션즈 인수를 통해 가맹택시를 수의 확대에 나설 수 있다.

카카오모빌리티 측은 "웨이고블루에 기술지원이라는 한정된 역할만 했지만 플랫폼 역량과 서비스 운영 전문성을 적극적으로 접목해 운영할 것"이라며 "웨이고블루를 전국적으로 확장하는 데 효과적일 것이라 판단해 인수를 결정했다"고 말했다.

카카오모빌리티는 웨이고블루를 ‘카카오T블루’로 바꾸고 카카오프렌즈 캐릭터를 활용하며 연말까지 1000대 규모로 택시 플랫폼 사업을 키운다는 계획이다.

Kakao Mobility is set to establish a comprehensive taxi platform.
According to the M&A on Wednesday, Kakao Mobility wrapped up its 100 percent acquisition of a stake in South Korea's largest taxi business, Tata Solutions, on Wednesday.


Taeta Solutions is a taxi business established in September last year, with about 50 corporate taxi companies that own 4,500 taxis in total. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has been operating the "Weigoblu," a taxi that does not refuse to ride, as it gave the green light to the first taxi business in March.


Its mission has been changed to "KM Solution," which takes the English alphabet of Kakao Mobility. Kakao Mobility co-CEO Ryu Yang-sun will replace Oh Kwang-won as CEO of K-M Solution.
Kakao Mobility will be able to emerge as a comprehensive taxi company through the acquisition of the Taj Solutions. Besides existing taxis, it is possible to provide mid-sized, large-size, and high-end (Kakao Black) taxi services.



Kakao plans to expand the chain of mid-sized taxis by expanding the franchise taxis with the acquisition of the solutions. It is also planning to introduce a large taxi-call service called Ryan Taxi (tentative name) based on passenger cars in October. To that end, Kakao Mobility has formed partnerships with more than 100 corporate taxis.



The mid-size large taxi market is currently considered the most scalable among taxi platform services. As of the end of June, the market has grown, with about 98 percent of all 240,000 taxis operating in the country being mid-sized taxis. Although Kakao Mobility has only played a simple intermediary role in receiving calls and distributing them to taxis, it can expand the number of family taxis through the acquisition of Taeta Solutions.



"We have only played a limited role as technical support for Weigoblu, but we will actively operate it by combining our platform capabilities and expertise in service operation," Kakao Mobility said. "We decided to take over Weigoblu because we believe it will be effective in expanding it nationwide."



Kakao Mobility plans to turn Weigoblu into "Kakao T Blue," utilize Kakao Friends characters and grow its taxi platform business to 1,000 units by the end of the year.
