한글과컴퓨터(한컴)가 마스크 제조사업에 뛰어든다. 자회사인 한컴라이프케어를 통해 마스크 제조기업 대명헬스케어를 인수한다. 한컴라이프케어는 안전장비 기업으로 인명구조장비와 공기호흡기, 방독면, 방화복 생산 전문기업이다.

한컴은 2017년 한컴라이프케어를 인수한 뒤 지난해부터 황사방역마스크, 재난안전키트 등 B2C사업을 시작하고 첨단 소방안전 관제 플랫폼 개발을 통해 스마트시티 분야에도 진출했다.

18일 인수합병(M&A)업계에 따르면 한컴라이프케어가 인수하는 대명헬스케어는 식품의약안전처로부터 KF94 및 KF80 등급 인증을 받은 마스크 생산 업체다. 연간 최대 4700만장을 생산하는 설비 규모를 갖추고 있다. 한컴라이프케어는 지분 인수 형태로 진행된다. 다만 대명헬스케어 인수규모는 정확히 밝히지 않았다.

한컴라이프케어는 대영헬스케어의 최대주주로서 신규 설비 증설 및 인력 확대 등을 통해 대량 생산체계를 갖춘다는 계획이다. 연간 마스크 생산량을 최대 1억장까지 늘려 최근 코로나19로 급증한 수요에 대응하기 위한 일환에서다.
한컴라이프케어는 그동안 주문자상표부착생산(OEM) 방식으로 마스크를 생산했던 만큼 마스크 자체 생산과 OEM 병행을 통해 안정적 품질 관리와 물량 확보가 가능한 것으로 예상하고 있다.

한컴라이프케어 측은 "소방·국방·방역·산업용 마스크 사업과 더불어 상대적으로 비중이 작았던 보건용 마스크 사업도 이번 인수를 통해 큰 성장을 기대할 수 있게 됐다"며 "최근 마스크 뿐 아니라 방역복 수요도 급증하고 있어 해당 제품의 공급량을 늘리는 등 방역 관련 제품 확대에 적극 나서고 있다"고 말했다.

한편 한컴은 2016년 연결기준 매출액 1211억원에서 지난해 매출액 3192억원으로 연평균 50%이상의 성장을 기록한 만큼 한컴라이프케어의 매출 및 수익성 강화를 바탕으로 지속적인 성장세를 이어나간다는 계획이다.

[M&A] Hancom takes over mask manufacturers through life care "A goal of producing 100 million sheets per year"

Hangul Computer (Hancom) is entering the mask manufacturing business. Through its subsidiary Hancom Life Care, it will take over Daemyung Healthcare, a mask manufacturing company. Hancom Life Care is a safety equipment company that specializes in the production of life-saving equipment, air respirators, gas masks and fire suits.


After acquiring Hancom Life Care in 2017, Hancom started B2C projects such as yellow dust prevention masks and disaster safety kits last year and has also advanced into the smart city sector by developing advanced fire safety control platforms.



According to the M&A industry on the 18th, Daemyung Healthcare, which is being acquired by Hancom Life Care, is a mask manufacturer that has been certified as KF94 and KF80 by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. It has facilities that produce up to 47 million sheets per year. Hancom Life Care will be conducted in the form of stake acquisition. However, it did not specify the exact amount of acquisition of Daemyung Healthcare.



As the largest shareholder of Daeyoung Healthcare, Hancom Life Care plans to install a mass production system by expanding new facilities and expanding its workforce. The move is part of a plan to increase annual mask production to up to 100 million sheets to cope with the recent surge in demand to Corona19.
Hancom Life Care expects stable quality control and supplies through production of masks and OEMs since it has been producing masks through OEM (Order-Signed Attachment Production) method.



"The acquisition of the mask business, which was relatively small along with the fire, defense, quarantine, and industrial mask business, will also allow us to expect great growth," said Hancom Life Care. "We are actively expanding quarantine-related products by increasing the supply of such products as not only masks, but also the demand for quarantine suits is increasing rapidly."



Meanwhile, Hancom plans to continue its growth based on the strengthening of sales and profitability of Hancom Life Care as it recorded an annual growth rate of more than 50 percent from 121.1 billion won in sales in 2016 to 319.2 billion won in sales last year.
