신동해그룹이 중고차 유통 플랫폼, AJ셀카를 인수한다고 6일 밝혔다. 중고차 관련 사업 확대를 위한 일환에서 진행됐다.

신동해그룹에 따르면 AJ네트웍스가 보유한 AJ셀카의 지분 77.79% 전부를 인수하는 주식매매계약을 체결, AJ셀카 총 주식 274만 4147주 중 213만 4747주를 166억 5529만원에 인수했다.

AJ셀카는 중고차 유통 플랫폼 기업으로 관련 업계 3위로 평가받는 기업이다. 2019년 861억원의 매출을 기록했다.

신동해그룹은 17만 5676㎡ 크기의 중고차 매매단지 '오토허브'를 경기도 용인시 기흥구에 보유하고 있으며, AJ셀카 인수를 통해 중고차 관련 사업 확대에 나설 계획이다.

우선 AJ셀카가 경기도 안성에 보유한 국내 최대 단일 중고차 경매장을 활용해 기업형 신차 및 중고차 유통 기업으로 성장한다는 방침이다.

전기자동차 중고차의 유통 산업을 중장기적으로 육성하려는 의지도 강한 것으로 알려졌다.

신동해그룹은 1991년 신동해인터내셔널 사명으로 미국에서 커피전문점과 주유소, 패스트푸드점에 '논슬립 슈(미끄럼 방지 신발)'를 대량 공급한 것이 사업의 시작이다. 이를 기반으로 부동산과 저축은행 등 사업 다각화에 성공했다.2010년 동양저축은행을 인수하고, 2017년 단일 규모 세계최대 자동차 쇼핑몰 '오토허브'를 개장했다.
