어비스컴퍼니가 메이크어스엔터테인먼트를 인수합병(M&A)한다고 8일 밝혔다. 어비스컴퍼니는 국내외 공연 및 e-스포츠 사업 분야를 기반으로 하고 있는 종합 엔터테인먼트사다. 지난해 e-스포츠 사업 분야에서 크게 두각을 나타내면서 대규모 투자를 유치하기도 했다.

어비스컴퍼니가 메이크어스엔터테인먼트 M&A를 바탕으로 종합엔터테인먼트사로 발돋움한다는 계획이다.

메이크어스엔터테인먼트는 선미, 어반자카파, 박원 등이 소속된 엔터테인먼트사로 기획력과 컨텐츠 제작 등의 경쟁력을 보유한 곳이다.

어비스컴퍼니는 메이크어스엔터테인먼트를 M&A를 통해 K팝으로 대표되는 글로벌 엔터테인먼트 산업과 폭발적으로 성장하고 있는 e-스포츠 산업을 넘나드는 사업 영역 확장을 통해 글로벌 콘텐츠 기업으로서 본격적인 행보를 이어갈 예정이다.
