디지털 셋톱박스 전문업체인 아리온테크놀로지가 선박 건조업체 '다오요트'를 인수했다.
26일 M&A업계에 따르면 아리온테크놀로지의 다오요트 인수는 지난 21일 지분 51% 인수형태로 이뤄졌다. 지분 51%인수 금액은 총 35억원이다.

다오요트는 2013년에 설립된 국내 알루미늄 특수선박시장 수주 1위 기업으로 경비정, 소방정 등 고속단정과 중소형 어선 등을 제조하는 기업이다. 독보적인 기술력을 통해 국내 최초로 수륙양용선박을 개발 및 상용화 등에 나선 바 있다.

관공서를 중심으로 알루미늄 신규 선박에 대한 수요가 꾸준히 증가하고 있는 가운데 다오요트는 조선 산업과 해양레저산업 영역 전반에 걸쳐 끊임없이 성장하고 있다. 주요 레퍼런스로는 대한민국 해경(연안구조정, 해양경찰특공대), 해병대(고속단정), 서울소방(소방정), 환경공단(관리선), 한국수자원공사(순시선), 제트보트(레저보트), 파라세일보트 등이다.
다오요트는 해외 시장 진출도 적극적으로 움직여왔다. 나이지리아, 인도네시아 등 해외시장을 개척, 우수한 글로벌 인프라를 확보하고 있다. 아프리카 모잠비크와 지속적인 교섭을 통해 대규모 선박 수주를 포함한 현지 제조 및 수리 공장을 설립할 예정이다. 

아리온테크놀로지 측은 "올해 아프리카 모잠비크를 시작으로 본격적인 해외 수출에 나서는 다오요트와 아리온이 가지고 있는 글로벌 네트워크망이 만나 시너지 효과를 낼 것으로 판단된다"며 "향후 세계 진출을 시작으로 다각적인 사업 협력을 통해 지속적인 성장을 이루겠다"고 말했다.

아리온테크놀로지는 지난해 별도기준 영업이익이 14억원을 달성하며 전년 대비 흑자로 돌아섰고, 다오요트 인수를 포함해 비상장사의 인수합병 등 신사업 확장에 나선다는 계획이다.

Arion Technology, which specializes in digital set-top boxes, has acquired the ship builder Daoyachts.

Daoyachts, established in 2013, is the No. 1 company in the country's aluminum special ship market, which manufactures high-speed boats such as patrol boats and fire engines and small and medium-sized fishing boats. The company developed and commercialized amphibious ships for the first time in Korea through unrivaled technology.



Based on the success of various patent and government business tasks, Daoyachts has achieved more than triple sales growth since 2015. Changwon and related industries expect the size of the local special ship market to surpass 5 trillion won by 2030.



With demand for new aluminum vessels steadily increasing, centering on government offices, Daoyachts has been constantly growing throughout the shipbuilding industry and the marine leisure industry. Major references include the Korea Coast Guard (N Coast Guard, Coast Guard Special Forces), Marine Corps (High Speed), Seoul Fire and Marine Fire (Fire), Korea Environment Corporation (Administration), Korea Water Resources Corporation (Navy Line), Jet Boat (Leisure Boat), and Paraceboats.
Daoyachts has also been actively moving into overseas markets. It has pioneered overseas markets such as Nigeria and Indonesia to secure excellent global infrastructure. Through ongoing negotiations with Mozambique in Africa, the company will set up a local manufacturing and repair plant, including large-scale ship orders.



"It is believed that the global network of Daoyachts and Arion, which will start exporting in earnest starting with Mozambique in Africa this year, will meet to create synergy effect," said Arion Technology. "We will continue to achieve growth through diverse business cooperation starting with global expansion."



Arion Technology is planning to expand its new business, including acquiring Daoyot, by making 1.4 billion won in operating profit on a separate basis
